[livejournal.com profile] shayheyred recently noted a strong similarity between Sarah Palin and a well-known TV character. I just realized there's another, possibly more sinister one. You Heroes fen will know of whom I speak...

Heroes is doing a very good job keeping me confused. I have no earthly idea where they are going with anything.Read more... )

Journeyman: they're giving me just enough of the sci-fi angle to keep me interested. Read more... )

I'm liking Women's Murder Club, but Moonlight lost me. Kind of on the fence about Bionic Woman. I keep taping it and not watching it. Criminal Minds is doing fine without Mandy. And as I said the other day, Blood Ties was great last week.

Speaking of Blood Ties, I just found out Tanya Huff has an LJ. Also, she's asking Canadian fans of the show to contact CityTV and let them know you like the show. American fans can contact Lifetime but she's specifically looking for Canadian fen.

I watch NBC pretty exclusively on Monday nights right now, at least in primetime. Chuck continues to amuse me. I loved the whole exchange between Ellie and Morgan about Chuck last night (which I don't think counts as spoilery so I am not tagging it):
Morgan: "He's a fragile little gelding..."
Ellie: "Do you know what a gelding is?"
Morgan (indignantly): "Yes! It's one of those little guys from The Dark Crystal..."

I had a special moment of squee during the opening credits for Heroes, which I will cut tag just in case. )

And then there was Journeyman. Which I still like but man, could his wife be any more annoying and less trusting?Read more... )
I can see Monday nights are gonna be spent on the couch watching NBC. Out of the three shows I watched last night, Chuck, Heroes, and Journeyman, I liked all three. brief thoughts behind the cut. )
So I'm watching Kyle XY last night an nearly spewed gin-and-tonic (hey, it was a rough day at work!) out my nose when one of the characters exclaims in a moment of aggravation: "Oh, for the love of Peter Petrelli!" Now, I am pretty sure that The Family Channel which runs Kyle XY is owned by ABC not NBC so I was a little surprised by that, but I'll take my Heroes shout-outs where I can. And they did give ABC a nod with a Lost reference a few minute later. ;D

Speaking of Kyle XY, I have to say that Jean-Luc Bilodeau, the actor who plays Josh on that show, is really quite good. I think he's arguably the best, most natural actor on the show.

And in a total non-sequitur I do sometimes wonder about that "Family" designation, considering how much sex there is in pretty much every show I've seen on that network. Not that I'm objecting. Given a choice between sex and violence on a 'family' network I'll opt for sex. Far healthier.

So the list of Emmy nominations is out, and there were a few I was pleased to see. For instance:

Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series
Masi Oka (Yatta!) for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series
Heroes and House were both nominated for Outstanding Drama Series
Deadliest Catch was nominated for Outstanding Nonfiction Series
Project Runway and Top Chef were both nominated for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program
Eureka, Heroes, and Rome were all nominated for Outstanding Special Visual Effects For A Series

Also, Deadliest Catch, Project Runway, Rome, The Lost Room were all nominated for several technical awards as well.

I was not so thrilled to see David Morse (as Michael Tritter on House) nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series. Though I suppose it's a credit to his acting that I found his character to be so spectacularly annoying that I hated that arc with a passion beyond expression.
Oh, Mohinder, you're so pretty and so gullible. *sigh* cut for spoilers )

In other news, apparently I did not pay as much attention in HS as [livejournal.com profile] bethbethbeth did, but I did pay enough attention to get the same phrasing on my results. :)

You paid attention during 91% of high school!

85-100% You must be an autodidact, because American high schools don't get scores that high! Good show, old chap!

Do you deserve your high school diploma?

I wish the test showed where you scored low, because I'd be willing to bet it was math. :)
