I watch NBC pretty exclusively on Monday nights right now, at least in primetime. Chuck continues to amuse me. I loved the whole exchange between Ellie and Morgan about Chuck last night (which I don't think counts as spoilery so I am not tagging it):
Morgan: "He's a fragile little gelding..."
Ellie: "Do you know what a gelding is?"
Morgan (indignantly): "Yes! It's one of those little guys from The Dark Crystal..."
Me: ::splorfle::

I had a special moment of squee during the opening credits for Heroes, which I will There I was watching the guest credits blipping past and I see "Nichelle Nichols." Woot! First Sulu, now Uhura!? I had not heard about this and I was so excited to see her name! She only had a cameo last night but I think she'll have a larger role overall as the series continues. And she looked absofrickinlutely gorgeous! She has always been one of my favorite actresses and it was so great to see her in something again! Here's a pic to show just how fabulous she looks:

And then later we get more of the 3Ms (Matt, Mohinder & Molly) which make me grin every time. I love that Matt slept through Mohinder coming home and then nearly shoots him. ::snerk:: The hazards of being married to a cop. ;-D

And then there was Journeyman. Which I still like but man, could his wife be any more annoying and less trusting? That is getting old, fast. Now granted, Dan was kind of an idiot to tell his brother he saw Livia but not his wife, but still. They finally have Katie believe that Dan is time traveling (how can she not, after the plane?) only to dredge this up? I get that they want us to know how hard this is on his relationships but... it just felt really contrived. (And how much do I love that there's a "Livia" in Journeyman? Kevin McKidd must feel right at home. ;D)

Chuck is growing on me. Everybody on LJ seems to be talking about Captain Awesome teaching Chuck the tango, heh.

Heroes is really turning into a Star Trek reunion. A guy from Enterprise was the Irish traitor, too.

Yes! Capt. Awesome and the Tango was quite amusing. Also amusing was Chuck asking the Catherine Zeta-Jones clone if she'd lead. :D

Oh, and yeah, that was Dominic Keating, wasn't it? I only watched a couple of eps of Enterprise so that hadn't dawned on me. Tim Kring (or maybe the casting director) must be a Trek fan. ;D

First Sulu, now Uhura!?

And Dominic Keating, too...it'll be fun to see which Trek alumnus shows up next!

And Dominic Keating, too...

Aha! I thought it was him, but he's changed, plus the accent. Yum. :)

I loved seeing Nichelle! She definitely looked FABulous. She had a somewhat wicked expression on her face, which made me wonder if she was related to D.L., and if so, if she has a superpower or something scary. Meep! Maybe she's one of the old ones like Cruella de Petrelli or Mr. Nakamora.

I really have to catch up on Journeyman. I have all the eps recorded but I haven't watched any of them yet. D'oh.

I found a pic and added it to the post. I think she must be D.L.'s grandmother, since we already met his mother and she wasn't UHURA! I hope she has a superpower, that would be awesome. But hopefully she's no Cruella Petrelli. (what a fantastic name for her!)

I am interested to hear what you think of Journeyman-- whenever you get a chance to watch it in your copious spare time.

Oh, I'd read about Nichelle Nichols joining the cast. Who will be next from the original Trek? What's Walter Koenig doing? :) We're still on the first year (BBC2), so I'm way behind you. I'll have to see when we'll get the second year (they're starting to show popular shows sooner than they used to here due to downloading); I may be tempted to download if it's a while.

I don't know about Chuck; we don't have that one yet. We just started with The Riches on a new channel Virgin1 (Minnie Driver has the accent; sadly, Eddie Izzard isn't quite as good, darn it) and I just saw It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia -- I know, we're three years behind. But it was fun watching it with Ian and him recognising some of the exteriors. :)

I found a pic of Nichelle and added it to the post so you can see what she looks like. They do have one other Trek alumni already this season, but it's someone from Enterprise not TOS or TNG.

Chuck is slightly reminiscent of Jake 2.0 if you ever saw that, but for some reason I like it better. More humor, in part.

I haven't seen either of the others you mention, though I have heard great things about The Riches.

From: [identity profile] silme.livejournal.com

I kind of like the Riches, although I've only seen the first two episodes.

Jake 2.0 was aired over here -- Sky One bought it on a risk, then it was cancelled. I was reading an article about how international rights to brand new shows have to be purchased well before the shows air in the US, so often the networks are taking risks.

I don't know, I think Eddie Izzard does a pretty good job with the American accent in that show ;)

From: [identity profile] silme.livejournal.com

Interestingly, my work colleagues (English) think they still hear too much of Izzard's own accent, but Americans with whom I've spoken on-line think he's all right. I may have lived in Britain too long to judge. ;)

Ahhh, I had missed the setup for the Dark Crystal line. Thanks! *snort*

I dunno, I think Katie's taking things pretty well for having a husband that's jumping around in time. (finally? I thought Katie bought into the time travel thing after he dug her ring up from under the patio they'd poured 7 (?) years earlier, at the end of the first episode.) And while he should have mentioned he'd seen Livia when asked point blank if he'd seen anyone, not saying anything makes him look like he's hiding something. I'd probably be a little hurt too in Katie's shoes.

From: [identity profile] kelliem.livejournal.com

Hee! It was a great throwaway line. ;)

As for Katie, they seemed to indicate she believed Dan at the end of ep 1, and then she backslid in ep 2 until the thing on the plane. And yeah, I'm not saying Dan wasn't an idiot for not mentioning Livia to Katie, but I think he just didn't want to make her suspicious-- which of course makes him look bad now. I also think Katie has reason to be hurt. I just thought the whole thing felt contrived by the writers.

I gave up on Journeyman after the first episode. I taped the second, but decided I just wasn't interested. I never really got into Quantum Leap either.

Heroes was good, and it was great seeing Nichelle Nichols. I was also thinking, "which other Star Trek cast members will they have?" I recognized Dominic Keating right away, not from Enterprise although I did see him in that, but from "The Immortal", in which he played a villain.

Chuck was good. I do like the show and the humour in it. I'll certainly continue to watch that. "Captain Awesome" What a name.

Chuck's "friend" Bryce sounded like a real jerk. If I understood Chuck correctly, it seems that Bryce planted stolen tests under Chuck's bed and then turned him in so he would get kicked out. He steals Chuck's girlfriend in college and as his last act, endangers Chuck's life by sending all that data to him. I'm not 100% certain about the tests, but that is what it sounds like to me.

From: [identity profile] kelliem.livejournal.com

Yeah, I think you're right that Bryce planted the exams... that was definitely the implication I got as well. Bryce was clearly a jerk.
