Pop culture, how I love thee

So I'm watching Kyle XY last night an nearly spewed gin-and-tonic (hey, it was a rough day at work!) out my nose when one of the characters exclaims in a moment of aggravation: "Oh, for the love of Peter Petrelli!" Now, I am pretty sure that The Family Channel which runs Kyle XY is owned by ABC not NBC so I was a little surprised by that, but I'll take my Heroes shout-outs where I can. And they did give ABC a nod with a Lost reference a few minute later. ;D

Speaking of Kyle XY, I have to say that Jean-Luc Bilodeau, the actor who plays Josh on that show, is really quite good. I think he's arguably the best, most natural actor on the show.

And in a total non-sequitur I do sometimes wonder about that "Family" designation, considering how much sex there is in pretty much every show I've seen on that network. Not that I'm objecting. Given a choice between sex and violence on a 'family' network I'll opt for sex. Far healthier.

I wondered at the "Family" designation as well.

I don't watch Kyle XY, but I did watch 5 or 6 episodes of Fallen over the weekend, and was also surprised that there was sex. Not that there is anything wrong with that. =)

I read somewhere that when they bought the channel there was a requirement that they keep the 'family' designation in the title. I think that may be the only reason it's there.

I'm really impressed by that on this show...the pretty popular girl being slightly fannish, Josh's girlfriend being a girl-gamer.

I am NOT CAUGHT UP! I ended with the one where he decoded the CD. But H is due back tonight so hopefully we'll GET caught up.

H likes (predictably?) Andy and Josh best. She likes Kyle's character but she can't stand whiny Amanda. *g*

They're doing a marathon next Monday, you could catch up then. :D And I don't blame H. I think Amanda is whiny and wussy too. She's my least-favorite character.
