Bringing Party Favors to Hell

TVShowsonDVD has just announced that Space: Above & Beyond will finally be released on DVD this summer! This short-lived show was a wonderful piece of work, from the writing/directing/producing team of Glen Morgan and Jim Wong (21 Jump Street, X-Files, Millennium), with a strong ensemble cast featuring (among others) the amazing James Morrison, Tucker Smallwood, and Kristen Cloke (her Shane Vansen was one of the better female characters I've seen on televison). It was a shame Fox TV had to screw around with this show so much, constantly pre-empting it and changing its timeslot so it was difficult to find, because it deserved a better fate than to be cancelled so its creators could be yanked back to work on the tanking Millennium which Chris Carter was busy driving into the ground. (Rumor has it that the letters "AMF" prominently displayed in the closing credits of the final episode of S:AAB stand for "Adios Mother F***ers" as a message to Fox execs.)

If you never got a chance to see this series, I highly recommend taking a look at your local BestBuy later this summer to see if you can find it.
