Ahem.

Making a pair of tights longer does not also magically render them wider. When I buy a pair of plus-sized tights, I do not want a pair which would fit someone who is seven feet tall and of average weight. I want a pair that fits someone of average height who is pleasingly plump. This should not be a difficult thing to grasp. I don't want to pay good money for a pair that somehow manages to be both saggy and binding.

Grrrrr.

Oh, yes, like stockings, but instead of being all light and filmy, they are thick, opaque tights.

I mean, I have stockings too, but I tend to shred them on the first wear. The gripper band I find reasonably comfortable, though I'm not plus-size, but it basically grips onto your flesh with a slightly tacky wide plastic band. When I take them off, I have that sore red place like when any elastic cuts into you.

Which is why a garter belt sounds like a much more sane alternative.

Huh, interesting. I've never seen heavy opaque tights made like stockings. Where do you buy them?

The best ones I've found (even better than the more expensive department store brands) were from Target, though that's Australian Target. You want a nice high denier number for thicker tights.

This is the kind of thing I'm talking about.

I suspect if this is yet another of those places where the US is backward and deficient. I am pretty sure I've never seen those in the US. I will have to do some googling to see if I can find a US supplier.
