As I was driving home yesterday afternoon I was listening to NPR as usual, and they featured a Michele Norris interview ith Alan Keyes, the Maryland Republican they have recruited to run against Barak Obama in Illinois (never mind that Keyes doesn't actually *live* in Illinois and that he tore Hilary Clinton a new one for 'carpetbagging' in NY!) and as I listened all I could think was 'my GOD what an arrogant asshole!!" Honestly, I have rarely heard anyone make such an utter jerk of themselves on the airwaves. I don't *think* was just being a kneejerk liberal. In case you want to hear the interview for yourself it's here.

Thanks for the link, Kellie! Luckily it wasn't so long I couldn't listen (altho my TMJ Syndrome isn't all that pleased ;\ )

Anyway, I found it particularly ironic how he kept saying the Dems were "building up Obama all out of proportion to his abilities or importance". I mean, NOT that his own situation vis a vis his position in the Repubs wasn't anything like that. He wasn't only arrogant, he was (and this alone makes him a fine Repugnican), so soundly and defensively illogical!

Anyway, here's a quote I got from someone on dailykos.com for your enjoyment. It was made in a discussion of Bush's latest statement while campaigning:

Bush also said high taxes on the rich are a failed strategy because "the really rich people figure out how to dodge taxes anyway."

ineedalife posted:
"But [Bush] can fool some of the people all of the time, and he needs them for re-election. He is expanding his base from the haves and have-mores to include the have-no-brains. "

I bet your TMJ is unhappy. I don't even have TMJ and my jaw hurts. And I am so not surprised by Bush's latest. Not at all.

He is expanding his base from the haves and have-mores to include the have-no-brains.

Here's one you might enjoy.
