Look who was in our yard today!
Actually, I am pretty sure there were two of them, at different times. One was the one in the photos, definitely a red fox-- with distinctly red fur and a white tail-tip, the other was a tiny bit larger and more dun-colored with a dark tail-tip, I think it was the Swift fox I have seen once before. (No, it wasn't a coyote, they are easy to tell apart.) I didn't manage to get pix of that one. The larger fox seems to have taken refuge from the cold in the neighbor's no-longer-used dog house. Not sure where the smaller one is denning.
Sora (our younger cat) was downstairs looking out the window when the fox was there, and was so fascinated. He kept staring outside looking for it long after it had gone.
