Surface, season finale

So, it took them all of first season to get all Our Heroes in one place. I hope they get a second season. And I hope they planned ahead for a second season so it has some continuity.

I have to admit I kind like the pacing. It's nice that it's unfolding slowly.

Go Miles, going back for Caitlyn and being smart enough to head for high ground. And Nim! Nim watching TV and obviously understanding it! I loved Laura and Rich's reaction to Nim in the back seat. Priceless!

I wonder if the Medium Sized Critter left them alone because it could sense Miles/Nim?

I am confused, though, by what appeared to be areas of volcanic glowyness under the water surrounding the church there at the end. How did that happen? Or was that just supposed to be debris and it was badly rendered?

But it was so awesome how they met up! I loved that! O and I were breathless! And Oh GOD how cute was Nim in the car? And Rich was all "AUGH! GET IT OUT OF HERE!" and Laura was all "OMG it's one of them and it's so cute, I mean, um, it's one of them only smaller!"

And Miles looking for Nim at the end and finding him up in the window! Nim is SO SMART! Do you think the one that swam into the church was looking for Nim or knew Nim was there? I can't wait to watch it again.

Also I can't believe that asshole stole Caitlin's Vespa. GRRRR.

Also? I love that the actor who plays Miles really is 14. That's just awesome. My kids swear that kid has been on Unfabulous or some other Nick shows they watch but I haven't IMDBed him yet.

I know!! I loved the whole thing 'should we stop' 'no' 'they're not moving' and they have a HUGE empty street they could swerve around them on but they're too freaked out to think of that. :) And then Rich, all testosteronized and ready to beat up Miles until he realizes he's just a baby. (Seriously, Rich needs some anger management classes!) The whole 'noticing Nim in the back seat' had me ROFL. Laura was definitely "OMG so CUTE!" :D

I definitely think the one that swam into the church definitely had some sort of communication, either with Nim or possibly with Miles, or both.

Oh, and your kids are right. He was on Unfabulous, according to his IMDB entry. Not that I know what that is, but good spotting on their part. :)
