Yeah, I'm impatient and I couldn't wait. I haven't read many comments on the ep because I didn't want to be spoiled before I watched it, but now I have. Very superficial comments
Well, hmm...
ST:TNG did it better, I think. "The Inner Light" was one of my all time favorite eps of theirs. But this wasn't bad. It felt a little rushed toward the end, but not hideously. Actually, it was more like "The Inner Light" crossed with "Forbidden Planet." (Monsters from the ID!)
I liked that John's frustration with the situation was echoed by Rodney's... nice mirroring.
Did anyone else think that Generic Pilot Guy was a ringer for Nicholas Brendon (aka Xander from Buffy)?
And I'm with Rodney. What IS it with Sheppard and ascended women?

Yes yes! I hadn't made the connection but you're entirely right. Loved that episode.

LOL! The pacing was an improvement from The Hive, but yeah, could use some work there. I get the feeling the episodes are completely minced in editing.

I liked John's role in this all the way around. I didn't get the sense that the episode was about Sheppard so much as life's purpose (in a very broad sense), but we learned more about him in deed than in words. I liked that a lot.

I didn't. Guess I'll have to watch it again. *g*

Ascended, desceneded - the babes can't resist Shep (shut yo' mouth!).
I had to giggle at the effect of Sheppard riding the invisible alien. It looked just as dorky in this ep as when Frodo jumped on the back of invisible!Gollum at Mount Doom. hee!

That, and Darmok, are the two best eps they ever did, imho.

Good point. :)

ROFL! Yeah, Riding the Invisible Baddie is really never good. :)
