It's the natal anniversary of the most wonderful [livejournal.com profile] ardent_muses. I hope you have a lovely day, and I know for a fact that Napoleon showed up for your birthday... of course the fact that he is 6" tall and plastic may make it hard for him to wine and dine you as you deserve. Still, may this year to come be a most excellent one. Thank you for being a wonderful friend.

Every time I think of Napoleon, I picture Ian Holm in Time Bandits. Historically inaccurate, but oh so humorous.

I'm the nonfiction editor of the online magazine Reflection's Edge (www.reflectionsedge.com), and you were recommended to me by Elizabeth Bear, who wrote an article for us a couple of months ago. We're a magazine for readers and writers of genre fiction - including science fiction, fantasy, horror, erotica, westerns, adventure stories, and magical realism.

Just looking over your responses to the "crush" meme, I see science fiction, westerns, and adventure stories well represented - and then we get the suggestion of erotica via Savage Love, AND a respectable nerd score. You're clearly our kind of person.

If you check our our magazine and like what you see, I hope you will consider writing for us. We're looking for articles about writing and articles about genre fiction in general - scan our back issues, and you'll see what I mean. If you're interested, I can send you a list of the topics that currently interest us - or if you have an idea for something you've really been wanting to rant about or expound upon, let me know. We can't currently pay most of our writers (although we hope to change that eventually) but we do try to represent the best writing possible - to be editors who are pleasant to work with, but who try to help you create your best work.

If that sounds interesting to you, please e-mail me at nonfictionsubmissions at reflectionsedge dot com.

Regards,
Romie

Thanks hon. You made it really nice yesterday.

he is 6" tall and plastic

I must have a particularly sleazy mind, but I do feel it's necessary to clarify that you did not buy me a vibrator for my birthday. *G* In case anyone wondered...

::Hugs::

ROFL! I hadn't thought of that interpretation! Hee! No, he's a vintage 6" Marx injection-molded Napoleon Solo figurine. Good ol' eBay. ;-D
