Netscape/McAfee problem

Has anyone encountered problems using Netscape mail after installing McAfee? All of the sudden it won't save my sent-mail, no matter how many times I go in and tell it that I want it to do so. I check the check boxes, say 'okay' and exit the account settings window and then when I go back in it's unset again. It's only been doing this since I downloaded and installed a new version of McAfee the other day.

Grrr. I don't know who I should complain to... Netscape or McAfee.

You might try Thunderbird for e-mail ?

If McAfee has a support site, might want to see if there's any documentation about how it interacts with mail. It may have something to do with email virus scanning. Or not. :) Email virus scanning's about the only thing I can think of that would be interacting with mail in any way.

What version of Netscape?

I have nothing helpful to say, except that the number of bugs that McAfee seems to induce in other software has driven me to Norton. I don't know what kind of time you have left on your subscription, but it's only $20-30, and it's not like you're sacrificing a user interface you love, or anything.

If I hadn't just spent $60 on the security suite, I would do that. But I did. So I just nixed Spamkiller. The rest of the stuff was working fairly well. Next year I'll go back to Norton, I suspect.

Thanks! That was exactly the problem. I uninstalled Spamkiller et voila! No more problem. Had to redo my filters but that didn't take too long.
