Earthsea sucks. Seriously, it's awful. Really, truly awful. I had trepidation when I saw Kristen Kreuk was going to be in it and that has been thoroughly borne out. It was like they trolled the local high school and Walmart for actors, the FX are laughable, and the story makes no sense as they are laying it out. I gave up watching about 45 minutes in. Whoever wrote the script probably has a tail and prehensile toes.

Ordinarily I don't base my decisions to watch something solely on the appearances of the actors in the cast, but in this case, the publicity pictures were sufficient to keep me away from Earthsea completely.

Just FYI: My teenager watched most of both parts because he was seriously bored, and he said the second part was slightly better than the first.

But to quote him: "It was really straightforward. Too straightforward. Maybe it was the editing, but the characters seemed to know things they hadn't been told or hadn't observed."
