I just have to point out one mistake in that article. It´s not only Belgium and the Netherlands that have legalized gay marriage. In Germany we have what is called a registered partnership, which is in fact marriage with some limitations that the government is trying to get rid of. Unfortunately they need the opposition´s approval for that.
May I also add that the mayors of our two biggest cities, namely Berlin and Hamburg are gay as is the chairman of the liberal party. It´s not a big issue over here anymore and I like that.
I think unless they actually call it 'marriage' (as opposed to domestic partnership) the reporter wasn't counting it. It's nice to know that it exists in Germany, though.
