So ... Sarah Connor Chronicles and Dollhouse tonight. SCC kinda pissed me off, not ten minutes after I was telling someone what a great job they're doing with the show. In what universe would a woman whose entire existence is focused on changing the outcome of the future collapse into someone's arms and declare it was 'her fate' to die of breast cancer without even consulting a doctor to see if she even had breast cancer??? And without fighting tooth and nail against it? That was so OOC it made me yell out loud. Then she declares to John that 'people matter' not ten minutes after telling him she doesn't trust anyone and neither should he. MAKE UP YOUR MIND, WOMAN! I was very disappointed with the writing in this ep, that's for sure. It was as if the writers were bound and determined to take the characters in a specific direction no matter how they had to twist them out of true to get there.

As for Dollhouse, I just have one thing to say: Enough with the frakkin' Lolita outfits on Caroline/Echo, for God's sake!!! (Or mine, at least.)

(When I logged into Semagic to compose this, it reminded me that it was [livejournal.com profile] thamiris' birthday. Which is weirdly ironic considering the topic I ranted about above. And it also reminded me how much I miss her.)

The idea that John knew Riley was from the future, because of the way she was acting around Cameron, and followed her back to Jesse, that was the first time I saw him as the guy who could be the savior of mankind against Skynet. Instead of a generic teen resenting his mother that they could have airlifted in from twenty thousand sitcoms.

What did you think of the fakeout with the timing of the hack? That Skynet borrowed John Henry's body and grabbed Savannah, right after she told him they could change the rules? For a minute I thought I'd been wrong about JH being a different AI and that was the birth of Skynet as we know it, changing the rules Ellison had been teaching him.

I was worrying about John a bit too, but he seems to be more on the ball than Mom and Derek think he is, thank goodness.

I loved the fakeout! That was fabulous, and I thought the same thing you did.

Oh! And the guy whose photo they used for Miles Dyson? That was Phil Morris, who is Greg Morris' (Barney, from the original Mission: Impossible) son! I hope that means we'll get some flashbacks or something starring him. I've always liked him.
