I've been doing the Great Backyard Bird Count for three years, and it's both a fun exercize and a great way to help ornithologists research North American bird populations. So if you live in the US or Canada and feel like counting a few birds this weekend, here's where you can find all the whys and hows:

We've noticed several species this year that we haven't seen since we moved to the area. (We took up bird watching when we realized we were smack in the middle of a migration corridor. Fun stuff. :-)
