I tuned in to The Neighborhood Ball for a few minutes last night, just enough to watch Barak and Michelle dance to Beyoncé (who really needed a better bra) doing a great cover of 'At Last' (and I think she was crying while she sang it, which was sweet). Not sure I completely liked Michelle's gown-- I loved the color and cut of it, and the way it flowed, but I wasn't wild about the rosettes on it. When I first saw it I thought it had those little 1960's era ball fringe pom-poms sewn all over it. Probably if I'd been able to see it in person so I could tell they were rosettes, I would've been more impressed. (halfway decent pix here.) Jason Wu must have been in heaven. 26 years old and the First Lady wears your gown to the inaugural ball? Oh yeah. ;D
I tried to watch a little more of it, but watching all those middle-aged (or older) politicians dancing badly triggered off my embarrassment squick and I had to turn it off. ;D (Being middle-aged or older and a bad dancer myself, I am allowed to say that.)
