kelliem: icy lakefront sunrise (hotlegs)

I'm trying to remember the name of a type of fabric used for bedspreads in the early 1970s' or so. Which is one of the weirder questions I've had lately, but it's driving me nuts that I can't remember. I've looked on eBay, I've looked at Penneys, Sears, K-Mart, Target... no luck. I recall they were very popular when I was a kid -- especially for boys. They were lightweight, woven, probably cotton and had a sort of corded or ribbed texture, the 'cords' set about a half inch apart. They were absolutely NOT chenille or corduroy. Not fuzzy at all. In fact, the texture was almost a little harsh. Tended to come in very basic colors like navy and red. Does anyone have a CLUE what I'm rattling on about?
