Yanno, I was a Hilary Clinton supporter, but if the McCain camp thinks I'm going to switch my vote to him just because he picked a woman as a veep? Uh, no. It's the person, not the gender. (Okay, well, not JUST the gender.)

Also, listening to Obama's speech last night was the first time in 8 years I haven't felt vaguely ashamed of being American.

I was a Clinton supporter too and all I can say is what she said, "No way, no how, no McCain."

I'm with you. I'm all about Obama. He's a man of ideas and we need some of that in Washington.

I wouldn't vote for McCain anyway, but now he's got a woman on the ticket who wanted to take polar bears off the endangered list so they could be hunted for profit to stimulate the Alaskan economy. Beauty queen my ass.

Yeah, no kidding! It's insulting, frankly, for them to treat women voters like such morons.

Well, we're *women*. What else could we be but stupid? *eyerolls*

We were driving home from Bournemouth (did some shopping after work) and heard it on the news, including a brief interview with an Anchorage journalist who talked about how inexperienced Palin was when she became governor. And, getting home, I found my NARAL email that states Palin as being horribly anti-choice.

No way. I wouldn't have minded Hillary as president (I even have a t-shirt I bought in the Dulles airport when we were last in the US in 2006 -- before she officially ran; I couldn't resist it -- it's the one with her as the war-era munitions plant worker with 'she can do it' as the caption). However, Barack has my full support. I'm not upset she's not VP; I'd rather save her for Secretary of State or some other such office, to be honest, where she really can serve the country.

No way to McCain and Palin. No way. And women voters, particularly pro-choice ones, aren't stupid.

(Btw, I sent in all my postal ballot request details earlier this month to the Boulder County Clerk, so I should receive it in early October. I'll also get to vote for Mark Udall for the US Senate -- yay!!! I only get to vote in federal elections now from Colorado, but I can vote for the US Senate and House from Colorado, not just president. :)

PS -- And your last line? I so agree. I agreed with Michelle Obama also and thought people who criticised her were just clueless. (Oh, and we watched Obama's speech on replay on the BBC Parliament channel. :)
