Gakked from quite a few folks on my flist:

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 23.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions

"Divided into geographic divisions across the country (for example, 'K' Division covered Alberta, 'O' southern Ontario, 'C' Montreal and 'J' New Brunswick), the new force carried out a dual role for the Canadian state for the next sixty-four years, performing typical policing duties as well as security intelligence work."

(From Spying 101: The RCMP's Secret Activities at Canadian Universities, 1917-1997 by Steve Hewitt, c. 2002 University of Toronto Press)

Ooooh, cool! Love the book! I'd do that meme too, but right now I'm sitting at work next to a cartful of donations. I do have a strange enough collection to pick from -- "Real Fantasies: Edward Steichen's Advertising Photography" which actually came from my father-in-law, to "Palmistry" and "Walleye: A Handbook of Strategies".
