Okay, I'm beginning to get worried. So far not one ep of Stargate: Atlantis this season has really, really sucked. I wasn't all that wild about Irresisitible but it didn't totally suck. And I've actually liked everything else. When does the other shoe drop? ::worries:: ::they'd better not bring the SG1 folks over to SGA and wreck things!!!!::

I enjoyed Common Ground a lot. The IMDB doesn't say, but Gateworld thought Christopher Heyerdahl (Halling) was playing the Wraith and he was listed n the ep credits, and I didn't see him in any other role. Nice job. I like him better as a Wraith. Not so stuffy.

I had a feeling that the Wraith was going to give John back his life, and even though I had that feeling, it managed not to feel lame or contrived when it happened. And it was so incredibly nice to see the Atlanteans honor their word for once. Elizabeth with Laden, and John with the Wraith. Heck, even The Wraith, and Laden. Amazing. Maybe they did learn something after all.

Nice team stuff, nice strong Elizabeth without being creepy Elizabeth. Rodney was funny without being completely OTT, and how much did I love his Generic John Sheppard Marine Pep Talk #1? :-D

And even though I am totally not into BDSM, it's always a tad interesting to watch Ronon obey John without any question whatsoever, even when his own instincts are screaming at him to disobey.

And, uh, I hate to mention this, but if there aren't a spate of John/Wraith stories hitting the comms after this ep, I will be truly shocked. I've seen people write pairings for this show with far less actual oncscreen chemistry.

Indeed, I agree about the chemistry. Since I'm not a Sheppard/McKay shipper, I have to say that IMHO these two had more slash appeal than any pairing I've seen up to now. Well...maybe Zelenka/McKay has more potential, but not as much hotness. It actually made me want to write SGA.

Wow. Considering how tepid you usually feel about the show, that's saying a lot!

I loved Rodney's pep talk! He was being so macho and then a couple scenes later he's killing a mouse with his P90. *g*

I'm not into BDSM either, as you know, but beyond Ronon obeying John despite his own wishes I have to admit that John tied up with the cloth over his mouth was pretty hot.

I'm getting worried waiting for the other shoe to drop, too. I haven't really been unhappy with an episode all season, and I've loved almost all of them. I'm sure it's impossible that they'll be able to keep this up, but I really hope they can.

I was very nearly yawning over last week's, so I was thrilled to pieces by this one!

And the thumbs up! :)

I haven't paid attention to who is writing the episodes, but I feel as if all the good writers have already left SG1 and moved to SGA. SG1 episodes were so much better before SGA started. yes, there was a fair share of bad episodes, but overall, I enjoyed most seasons.

This was a good episode. I "knew" that John would get his life back (he is a main character after all!), but I wasn't sure how they would manage that, so the wraith giving him back his life was a nice surprise.

This is a good season for SGA.
