RIP Paul Winfield. He was only 62. Died Sunday of a heart attack.
I can never think of him without hearing him intone: "Darmok & Gilad, at Tenagra." That was, imho, one of the best Trek eps ever filmed, in any of its incarnations.
He was one of my "Hey, it's THAT guy!" actors. You always knew if he was in something, it'd be worth watching.
Huh. I didn't know he was gay until I checked his IMDB entry just now.

So sorry he died so young. I've got a long (and growing) list of assholes I'd *pay* to see dead, and then something like this happens. ::sigh:: Life sure isn't fair, is it?

Where on IMDB is there mention he was gay? I missed it.

I must admit it was an assumption on my part that he's gay, based on this entry under 'trivia': His partner of 30 years, set designer and architect Charles Gillan Jr., has died of a rare bone disease in LA. [5 March 2002] They don't usually list business partners that way. Sad-- Paul lasted just barely over a year after his partner died.

No idea here that he was openly gay. Cool.
Thanks for the info.

It's sad; he was relatively young.
