[livejournal.com profile] aukestrel and I played around and made a title graphic for Wide Open Space and I want to show it off 'cause I think it turned out quite nifty.

Because the quality of the images was so vastly different between the left (sharp & clear) and right (scanlined and pixellated) halves of the image, I had to try and figure out how to make them a visual match. Once I got the two halves put together, I used a photograin filter, and then a diffuse glow filter. Then because the diffuse glow made it really yellow, Auk used a red filter over it all and added the text and text effects.

ETA: Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] scriggle for the caps I used. The quality of the PoS cap is totally not Scriggle's fault, the original media is like that.

ETA2: The original (slightly resized) images are behind the cut.

That's gorgeous!

Now I just have to finish my own writing so that I can read your story. :)

Thank you!

Yes, you do. :) (Is that bad to say that?)

Oh, yum. That's just lovely. It's tough to work with caps of such different quality, but you managed to do it very prettily indeed.

Thank you!

It's not as good as your work, but it was fun. :-)

Wow, Kellie, that's gorgeous!

I haven't read the story yet because I need a good long uninterrupted day to tackle it, but I'm totally looking forward to it! I've only seen Buffalo Jump once, and I haven't seen either of them in ages, but I'm sure it won't take me long to connect with the characters--it is you and AuK after all, so I know I'll be in good hands. :)

We did kinda get carried away... ;-D

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! And that's a fabulous icon. Is that Newbie or Ray? (Or another player to be named later?)

From: [identity profile] arallara.livejournal.com

That would be Ray, getting "frisked" by Volpe. *g* It's the little smirk that kills me.

Ohyeah. That scene is quite... inspirational. I love the little eyebrow lift too.

Wow, beautiful! Looks like a painting! Pointillism, maybe. Nice juxtaposition of the figures, good sizing, and I love the typefaces, too. Works beautifully with the story!

Thanks! Yeah, the pointillist effect works really well, it does give it a painterly feel.

Wow. That came out fantastic. You did a great job putting together those caps.

What a fabulous story! You two -- I know how much I love your writing separately, but the two of you combined is a special treat that just blows me away. I absolutely adore what you did with these guys. Now I wish there was a fandom just for them! Thank you for hours of wonder and joy.

Yay! So glad you liked it!! We're pretty fond of Christy and Alex too. :)

This is positively exquisite! Really one of the most gorgeous and perfect manips I've ever come across.

And I've bookmarked the story - can't wait to snag some free time to devour it. :D
