I was amused when reading this article today to come across this tidbit:
Initially, a cardinal will require two-thirds of the votes to be elected. But after about 30 ballots, there is an option for deciding the election by a simple majority. So potentially, it could end up as a straight fight between the two men with the most votes.
So I am now imagining a couple of old guys in dresses duking it out in the Sistine Chapel over who gets to be Pope.
(Since I'm an avowed pagan, I'm already going to hell, so I figure one more blasphemous image can't hurt.)
