After having nearly crippled myself with the cookie press on Saturday (my hand/arm STILL hurts! Note to self: let dough warm up a little more before pressing cookies...) I have made gingersnaps, oatmeal balls, apple-bran bread, and spritz cookies. Amazingly, I am still not fully baked-out. I still need to buy some slivered almonds so I can make bistokakia, and I also really want to make rum balls. However, I don't have a recipe for rum balls. Now, I could, of course, Google rum ball recipies but I'm hoping someone on my f-list will have a tried-and-true rum ball recipe they would like to share with me.

Anyone?

Bueller?

p.s. If anyone would like to make the wind stop, we'd appreciate it. 81 MPH is just a little irritating.

Re: Rum ball recipe

I don't have one (alas, Santa has not seen fit to gift with a food processor), but if I did (and had a food processor), this one would be the one I'd use: http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_9121,00.html

I don't have a rum ball recipe, but [livejournal.com profile] kassrachel just posted her recipe for Rosemary Snaps and they are FABULOUS.

I'm itching to go home and make some.

EEE! The wind! It was bad enough here at 60 mph. Your house must be rattling!

Rosemary snaps? That sounds like something I will have to try. I love rosemary.

Yup. And the wind blew a big branch off the tree next to the driveway and... you guessed it. I now have a small branch-induced dent in the top of my car. :-P

Abigail and I (she gets her license next week) were driving home from Boulder this morning. She was just pulling up to the light at the Diagonal and Jay Road when a FOLDING TABLE flew out of a pickup in the next lane and Bernoulli-ed right over the back of the car. If it had been two feet further forward it would have hit Abigail's window.

So she got a lesson on What To Do When You're Driving and Something Bad Happens. Hazard lights, inspect damage (there wasn't any, very strange), exchange information.

We were very lucky, and Abigail really kept her cool.

Wow. Scary! Good for her for keeping her head, though.

Boulder really should have the designation "The Windy City." Not Chicago.
