I am still wrestling with this stupid cold, so I didn't invite anyone over for dinner as I usually do on NYE. I didn't want to give it to anyone. Still, I was fairly productive. Got up, went to the bank, went out to the grocery store (twice, because like a moron I forgot something the first time!) and to the Cheese Warehouse to get some cave-aged emmental and gruyere to make fondue with. Kid-unit talked me into making fondue even though no one was coming over, said it's a tradition. I couldn't argue with that :) So we had two types of fondue for dinner, meat (cooked in oil) and cheese with bread and veggies, and it was yummy. In fact it may have been my best cheese fondue to date. For once the liquid and the cheese didn't separate. Yay!

But I have tons left over because I am used to having a BUNCH of people over when I make fondue, and tonight it was just the two of us. Just finished cleaning up after dinner, and am sitting here catching up on LJ and email, eating pizelles and drinking a glass of Schwarze Katze Riesling for dessert. Later after kid-unit finishes this round of War of Imperium we're going to watch Sahara and wait for 2006 to arrive. I have a bottle of Asti, since neither of us are all that fond of regular champagne.

I'm not doing the year-end wrap up writing meme that everyone else is doing because it would just depress me. Something seriously needs to kick my muse in the ass.

To all of you, I hope 2006 is a wonderful, productive, happy, healthy, and prosperous year! Salut!
