It's snowing,. Again. ::sigh:: I am getting pretty sick of the white stuff.

Looking forward to the premiere of The Dresden Files tonight. I remember reading and liking some of the books, and from what I've seen in reviews, SFC has done a decent job bringing them to the small screen.

I'm going to try making chicken korma and aloo gobi and cherry naan today. It's my first attempt at Indian cooking. I found about 20 different versions of the korma recipe so I'm going to kind of pick and choose what sounds best and fits the ingredients I have on hand and try to make something edible. Wish me luck. :-)

Watched SGA 3.17 "Sunday." Boy did that suck. Yes, I got choked up and cried. However, that was officially the stupidest cause of death in the history of cheesy scifi TV. 'nuff said.

I took the bible quiz just for grins. Not bad for a pagan:

You know the Bible 92%!

Wow! You are awesome! You are a true Biblical scholar, not just a hearer but a personal reader! The books, the characters, the events, the verses - you know it all! You are fantastic!

(I suspect this score has a lot to do wth being raised a Southern Baptist...)

Thank you for reminding me of the Dresden Files!!! James Marsters reading the first three books is a real treat. :)

I got a 72 on the Bible quiz despite only having been to church a few times as a kid, or for various weddings.

Good luck with the korma! But . . . cherry naan? Is it sweet?

In spite of? *laughs* I'm a pagan because I know the Bible so well!

I think I only scored high on the Bible quiz because I've taught it as literature in English classes. Of course, that generally was mostly the Torah and other parts of the Old Testament; some of the New Testament questions left me guessing. :)

I do want to hear about the Dresden TV show! We're supposed to get it later next mont on Sky, and I'm eager, but wary. I hear that Bob the Skull isn't just a head but has a full body, and that scares me. I came late to the books; I've read all of them (except for the most recent one, only out in the US) in the past couple of months. Devoured them. They're brain candy, but I like them. I need a good fix like that since I gave up on Laurell K. Hamilton. (Damn, but that woman needs an editor stat! :)

Yay for Dresden Files!!

Re: Bible Quiz - hey, even we pagans read!! ::g:: (I got an 85% - mostly b/c my early experiences with Christian teachings were in Catholic school - they're less about the Bible and more about the priests...IMHO).

It's snowing here, too - I guess it's finally winter.

I didn't know he'd read them, I bet he's great!

The korma turned out fantastic! I was so happy with it. So did the aloo gobi. It was exactly what I've been craving.

Cherry naan seems to be one of those dishes that no one is quite sure if it actually is Indian or if it's an 'Indian-stype' dish developed for restaurants to satisfy the Anglo/American sweet tooth, but it's really good. Basically it's like a turnover made with naan. The filling is a puree of cherries, almonds, cashews and sugar. All the recipes I found (which were all identical) called for maraschino cherries but I used dried cherries that I rehydrated overnight. You make the naan dough and pat/roll it out thin, spread the filling paste on it, then fold it and press the edges together and cook it like you do regular naan.

Makes sense to me that you would score higher on the old testament. The one thing I wish about the quiz was that it had shown which answers I got wrong.

I enjoyed TDF quite a lot. I think the guy they got to play Harry is just right. And yes, Bob has a body now, but that didn't bother me. Probably because it's been years since I read the books. He's sort of a vaguely fey English guy who reminds me a bit of Tim Curry.

I gave up on LKH some time back. Gah. You're so right about the editor. Have you read any Tanya Huff, or Carrie Vaughn?

Did you watch it? I liked it quite a bit. Will definitely watch again.

It's about time some of this snow went elsewhere! ;D

Okay, I'm looking forward to seeing the Dresden Files next month! (But if Bob has a body, then he doesn't have to go into strip bars as Mister the cat. :)

I'm not a big fan of Tanya Huff, but I like Carrie Vaughn. You do know that she's the seneschal of Caer Galen now, right? :)
