TV musings

I hear Women's Murder Club will be back, for at least the last three eps of the season, sometime in April. So we hopefully will get to see the rest of Joe Flanagan's stint as a Fibbie. (If he can work it into his SGA filming schedule.) And, hey! Maybe between now and April, Angie Harmon will eat something and gain an ounce or two. I also hear Nicholas Brendon will be back in a few more eps of Criminal Minds. This makes me happy. :)

The final few eps of Jericho are still making me happy. This week's ep had great pacing, I was really on the edge of my seat!

Ashes to Ashes is much better than I expected. I love Keeley Hawes as DI Alex Drake, she's a great character, and she's got real chemistry with Philip Glenister/Gene Hunt. (Is it odd that I occasionally find myself nostalgic over her wardrobe? I mean, the 80's...) ;D

Primeval is over for the season which makes me sad. I would be upset with certain developments in the last episode, but I have a feeling that as is often the case in SciFi shows, the condition is not permanent.

Speaking of SciFi shows and possibly temporary conditions... I have a spoilery question about Torchwood 2x08 - A Day in the Death: If Owen couldn't resuscitate the old artifact collector because he's dead and can't breathe, how is it he can talk, since talking requires... oh... breathing?

Project Runway: I am bummed that Chris was the ringer, but it wasn't entirely unexpected. I do like Rami's stuff, I just liked Chris' better. I've seen all the collections in various spots around teh intarweb, and really, I don't feel particularly strongly about any of them and have no idea who's going to win.

Oh, and I recently watched a little something called Being Human that I hear is possibly a BBC pilot, and I thought it was excellent. I'd love to see more of it, if it gets picked up.

So, two of the writers on Women's Murder Club have been asked to join the staff of Dollhouse *G*.

I take it I need to check the show out?

Ummmmmm.... not sure. I have... certain issues with the show. Now, these are wholly my own issues and related to my current marital state so they are not going to affect everyone the same way, but it makes it hard for me to rec the show unreservedly. I guess you could try a few eps and see what you think. It's kind of like a fairly typical police procedural with a dash of CSI and a lot of female bonding. :-D

I'm really enjoying Ashes to Ashes! Though I tend to lose the plot every time they start playing a Duran Duran song because I start dancing and singing at the top of my lungs. Great show, though. You're right about the chemistry, too. And the wardrobe--the first day I watched it, you should've seen what I went out wearing that night. I declared it 1981. *bg*

I liked Being Human, too. Hope it gets more episodes!

And I asked the same thing about Owen/breath/talking. I'm going to go with the assumption that whatever unnatural thing is keeping him alive has done some weird ass shit to his physiology. I mean...he is dead. And yet he's walking around and, y'know, kinda living.

LOL! I've thought of you a few times when watching A2A. I bet you'd look great in leg-warmers. ;D

As for Owen, I guess that's what I'll have to do, too. Though seriously, when he was cleaning out his medicine cabinet I wanted to say 'Hold on there, your co-workers might appreciate it if you keep your toothbrush..." ;D

*laugh* Yeah, I had similar thoughts when he was throwing all that stuff out. But isn't most of that caused by decay and food (and decaying food?). He's not decaying. If he doesn't sweat, he doesn't produce saliva, and he can't eat...well, he's going to get dirty and need a washing, but is he going to need to brush his teeth?

Hm...something to ponder...

I've not seen Women's Murder Club yet. Perhaps I'll check it out.

As you mentioned, A2A is getting better. I really wasn't impressed with Drake in the first two episodes, but she does seem to be getting better. I guess not everyone can handle "going back in time". :-) And I agree about the chemistry between Drake and Hunt, although it seems like she is trying to lead him on and (so far!) he is being a gentleman about it.

I need to find my cassette tapes now. "Fade to Grey" is the song I want to hear again. Although, I have a feeling that was on one of the tapes that got stolen.

I haven't finished watching Primeval yet. Their season is shorter than some of the seasons here! 7 episodes and it's over? Ridiculous!

Torchwood: I didn't think about how Owen can talk if he can't breathe, but really, you could say the same thing about Angel and Spike and all the Vampires. How come they were moving around when they were dead? Angel's lack of breath was a key point in the first season of Buffy. Xander had to resuscitate Buffy because Angel couldn't.

I'm just wondering if a future story line will involve making Owen truly alive again. Otherwise, he is of limited use to the team, since one unruly alien could incapacitate him, leaving him alive (okay, dead) with lots of broken bones.

And I wonder what would have happened if he had jumped? Would he have broken lots of bones, but still be conscious?
