Definitely. Almost a cross between a chutney and a salsa. It's weird, though, I distinctly remember watching her make this many years ago, and seeing her put a bag with cinnamon and cloves in it into the pot while it was cooking, but that wasn't actually in the recipe when I dug it out. That would make it even more chutney-like.
