Huh. So I was sorta right. more behind the cut )

Does anyone else think Eureka's Degree product-placement crap sucks huge yellow radioactive rocks? What the hell made them think that would be a good idea? When it was just commercials I sort of found it vaguely amusing but then it actually turned up in the show and frankly it's turning me off completely, and I'm a loyal viewer who has loved and pimped the show since the first episode. Way to alienate your viewers, Skiffy! (Smallville did something similar with some kind of chewing gum last season and it was just as annoying, fortunately I quit watching SV regularly years back.)

It's going to be really hard to keep up with what I want to watch this fall. There's too many things on at the same times! I ended up making a spreadsheet showing what I'm hoping to watch. Since I don't have a DVR or Tivo, this is going to be tough.

So right after seeing this week's Eureka and finding out some information that makes me think a certain event that happened during the ep might be more permanent than I had presumed, I find out that they're cancelling Stargate: Atlantis.

Not. Happy. Right. Now. :(

I was totally unspoiled for tonight's ep and all I have to say is... behind the cut )

Before this season is even over! Yay!

The more I watch Eureka the more I like it. I love the ensemble cast, the pacing is almost always spot-on, the dialogue snappy. It's just a really fun show. They even make me like characters that would normally just annoy me, like the supercilious Nathan and the gormless Fargo. This week's ep, Noche de SueƱos was a hoot! more behind the cut )

On another note, what is it with the name Jack, anyway? I mean... Jack Sparrow, Jack Harkness, Jack Carter, Jack Bauer, Jack Aubrey-- I am sure I am forgetting other fan-favorite Jacks. ETA: Jack O'Neill! How could I forget him?

So the list of Emmy nominations is out, and there were a few I was pleased to see. For instance:

Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series
Masi Oka (Yatta!) for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series
Heroes and House were both nominated for Outstanding Drama Series
Deadliest Catch was nominated for Outstanding Nonfiction Series
Project Runway and Top Chef were both nominated for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program
Eureka, Heroes, and Rome were all nominated for Outstanding Special Visual Effects For A Series

Also, Deadliest Catch, Project Runway, Rome, The Lost Room were all nominated for several technical awards as well.

I was not so thrilled to see David Morse (as Michael Tritter on House) nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series. Though I suppose it's a credit to his acting that I found his character to be so spectacularly annoying that I hated that arc with a passion beyond expression.
